Practice centre
Check a suspicious message
Practise the three steps on a fictional example, or paste a message you received. Everything runs on this device with simple word rules — this is training guidance, not verification.
Never type secret details here
Do not type your NRIC, one-time password (OTP), password, bank login, or full card or account number — here, in any chatbot, or to anyone who contacted you first. If you paste something that looks like one of these, this page will stop and warn you instead of checking it.
1. Pick a practice message
These four examples are invented for training. They are not real cases and do not refer to any real person, bank or agency.
2. Or type the message you received
Nothing to check yet. Choose one of the fictional examples above to begin.
3. Work through Pause → Check → Tell
PAUSE — do not reply, tap or pay yet
- Put the phone down or close the message. Nothing genuine is lost by waiting ten minutes.
- Real banks, agencies and family members will not rush you or ask you to keep a secret.
- Never give an OTP, password, NRIC, card number or bank login to anyone who contacted you first.
Official next steps
- Use the official channel. Open the organisation's own app, or type its website address yourself. Call the number on your card, bill or letter.
- Call 1799 if you are unsure. The national anti-scam helpline in Singapore is 1799. CheckFirst Voice is independent and simply points you there.
- Tell a trusted person. A family member, neighbour or community worker can look at the message with you.

This is an ordinary link to an official website. Nothing is reported automatically, and no information from this prototype is sent anywhere.
